EDF Members’ Mailing #41 (mailchi.mp)
Dear Members,
We hope you are doing well. Today and tomorrow many of us are not working and will take a good rest to prepare for the very busy week ahead of us. EDF Board meeting is taking place on Thursday. In the beginning of next week, all EDF Committees are meeting. Workshops will be organised, including on international cooperation and humanitarian action. We hope to meet many of you.
For this issue of the newsletter, we are glad to announce you that the European Commission is advancing regarding the Disability Platform. Interested to join in our advocacy? Read how that is possible. We are also reporting from a meeting held in the European Parliament on the European Disability Rights Strategy. We share with you an open letter we sent concerning the European Urban Mobility Plan and if you missed the workshop on efficient online communication, no worries, we recorded it for you.
We would like to draw special attention to the workshops taking place this Monday 15 November on ’Your rights in the EU’ and the work of EU Ombudsman. These workshops are designed for you and we would like to urge you to register. It is for sure a special occasion to have with us the EU Ombutsman so make sure you register!
We have also important calls for you. The Commission needs more info from us on the Web Directive. UNICEF needs our cooperation. EASPD, our member invites you to share their survey on inclusive education and if you know about the topic, fill it in. Our 25th Anniversary approaches, now you can choose the logo and slogans that we will use next year via a survey.
We have more calls and events for you, take a look in the dedicated sections.
We are very sad to announce you that another very strong disability and women rights activist passed away. Maria Kyriacou EBU, General Secretary died in October. Maria was a member of the EDF Women Committee in the past. We are from all our heart with all who knew her.
Finally, we would like to let you know that on Monday the invitations for the European Day of Persons with Disabilities will go to your mail boxes. Make sure you check also your spams, sometimes they arrive in there.
Stay safe and healthy, and have a very pleasant read!
An-Sofie and Loredana
